About.

Tumbatrek is a bushwalk through the spectacular high country organised by the Snowy Valleys Council each year to showcase the picturesque Snowy Valleys region.

An iconic annual event, Tumbatrek offers the chance to visit some of the region’s most beautiful scenery while providing opportunity to connect with government and community leaders in a less formal environment.

Community members are invited to join the trek.  Cost is $20 per adult and $10 per child and includes morning tea, lunch, and transport from Tumbarumba. The Trek normally covers an area of approximately 13 kilometres.

Tumbatrek was the brain child of Tim Fischer AC, former Deputy Prime Minister, who in 1985 along with a few keen locals wanted to promote tourism in the Tumbarumba region.

Tumbatrek is a COVID-safe event and attendees are reminded to stay home and get tested if they are unwell.

Attendees are advised to bring sunscreen, hat, water, and hand sanitiser.
